Based on the hugely successful Academy Award-winning film, this new production has been adapted for the stage by the original screen writer, Douglas Day Stewart and co-writer Sharleen Cooper Cohen, with music and lyrics by Kenny Hirsch and Robin Lerner. It will be produced by Sharleen Cooper Cohen and John Frost, and directed by Simon Phillips (Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical).
An Officer and a Gentleman is a triumphant story of working class heroes surviving great tests; a classic modern day love story about a working class boy and girl who must overcome their upbringing and personal weaknesses to accept life and love.

The East Lake Macquarie Catholic Parish and the Seven@SacredHeart youth community are jointly organising a coach trip to Walk with Christ, through the Sydney CBD on 10 June 2012. Please join us as we travel down to Sydney together in the comfort and safety of a Port Stephens coach.
Walk with Christ is a significant annual event for Catholics. Every year on the Feast of Corpus Christi (The Body and Blood of Christ) more than 5,000 people walk in procession behind the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of Sydney. Accompanied by shared prayers and hymns, the colourful procession culminates with Benediction at the St Mary's Cathedral forecourt.
Walk With Christ engages Catholics of all ages and backgrounds and revives a rich Catholic tradition of public faith demonstration.

About 50,000 objects are stored at Castle Hill in a state of the art storage and preservation facility. Now you can go behind the scenes of Australia's largest and most diverse musuem. It's a unique opportunity to discover another side of the Powerhouse Museum and see some of the many objects rarely on display.
